The primary focus of this Lab is on the isolation of probiotics from natural sources. Probiotics produced here are extensively used for disease control and pound maintenance in fish and prawn farms.
This Lab engages in finding sustainable solutions to address major concerns of the agricultural sector such as soil infertility, pests, fungal diseases, etc. The main function of the Lab is to identify and isolate potential cultures and compounds from microbial and plant sources that are necessary for production of bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides.
This Lab concentrates on the development of drugs from microbes, herbal plants and organic matter that come in handy in controlling such diseases as cancer, HIV and multi-drug resisting pathogens.
